FILL

Ken shifted uncomfortably on the blanket Daisuke had laid out. The Digital World was peaceful, and he couldn’t shake the thought he shouldn’t be here, sitting next to his secret boyfriend and having a nice picnic.
Daisuke gave him a dazzling smile as he took out some bento boxes. “I made your favorites.”
There were several bento laid out in front of him, foraged from Daisuke’s collection. He picked up the Doraemon one and peeked inside, hit by the fragrant smell of pan-fried sausage.
“You didn’t have to do that.”
“I wanted to.” Daisuke popped open his own Crayon Shin-chan bento and popped some omelette into his mouth, making an obscene noise of enjoyment. Ken felt his face heating up as he took his own dainty bite of sausage.
“Can I have some, Daisuke? Can I can I?” V-mon jumped onto Daisuke’s head and the two of them were pulled into a friendly wrestling competition.
Daisuke’s laugh was contagious. Ken chuckled as V-mon managed to steal a whole box and run off into the trees, leaving a slightly disheveled Daisuke to blink with a stunned look on his face. He turned to Ken, and smiled.
“Don’t tell V-mon that one was for him and Wormmon anyway.”
“He needs this win?”
“Yeah! I think he misses our adventures.” Daisuke snuggled up to Ken, threading their fingers together. “But I like just hanging out with you.”
“I like that too.” Ken gulped as Daisuke’s face got closer to him.
Daisuke leaned up, his eyes sliding closed, and Ken’s heartbeat sped up as he did the same.
They bumped their noses together.
“Ow ow ow.” Daisuke rubbed the bridge of his nose.
Ken sucked at this. He couldn’t even kiss Daisuke. He buried his face in his hands and sighed.
“Let’s try again.” Daisuke covered Ken’s hands and pulled them down from his face.
This time, as Daisuke leaned in, Ken kept his eyes open and cocked his head to the side, concentrating on getting the angle right to slot their mouths together. Daisuke’s lips were so warm, Ken felt a well of joy bubbling up in his chest.
Daisuke sucked in a sharp breath through his nose. “Am I doing something wrong?”
“No? I...really like kissing you.”
“Am I making you nervous?” Daisuke pulled back and Ken felt a pang of disappointment.
“No.”
Daisuke just gave Ken a deadpan look.
“Okay, yes. But I still want to kiss you.” Ken didn’t think he was being that obvious with his body language. He was trying, trying to just enjoy being with Daisuke.
Daisuke’s lips found his, and Ken was struck with worry. He tried to bury it, just feel the way Daisuke fit against his mouth, dry and puckered. Daisuke moved his lips and Ken heard a thump along his whole body.
Daisuke’s heartbeat was in his chest.
Ken pulled Daisuke closer, pushing their chests together. Daisuke’s heartbeat was just a little bit slower than his, and his pulse purposefully calmed until they were in sync.
Ken’s back hit the blanket as Daisuke fell on top of him. He opened his mouth and their kiss went from shy and tentative to so very wet.
Ken was so happy. Daisuke was excited.
His heart felt like it was going to burst out of his chest. He wanted it to, he wanted to get even closer to Daisuke’s, he wanted them to merge and blend together into one.
Daisuke was a ball of sunshine, his feelings so sharp and uncomplicated and Ken felt it all, the dark corners of his mind being lit up with Daisuke. He was so unbelievably happy.
“Daisuke! Ken-chan!” Paildramon burst out of the trees and stood over their tangled-together bodies. “Are you okay?”
Ken stared up at their partner, confused. “Why did you Jogress, Paildramon?”
“Ken, I think...” Daisuke hadn’t moved from where their chests were smashed together, as close as they could be with their shirts in the way. “Uh. This...did it?”
Ken’s face turned red.
